According to Native tradition, Misshipeshu (a Manitou), lives in the lakes and rivers of the Canadian Shield. Centuries ago a native artist drew his interpretation of Misshipeshu on Agawa Rock, a place sacred to the Ojibway people who live along the shores of Lake Superior. Misshipeshu is a reminder for non-native paddlers of the great power and beauty which nature and the elements possess; that you travel prepared in mind, body and in your equipment.    Bluewater Canoes are manufactured to the highest standards out of respect for the elements, and for your comfort and safety. We are only satisfied when our product has passed inspection and bears the Misshipeshu label.
