Composite canoes are made from fiberglass, S-glass, Kevlar, carbon fiber fabric and a resin (polyester, vinylester or epoxy) to hold that fabric in place. At Bluewater we realize there are different kinds of paddlers and many environments for our canoes, consequently we offer our boats in four durable layups.

Bluewater canoes have a reputation for quality of construction that is unsurpassed in this industry. We firmly believe that all canoes are not created equal. Very few manufacturers use Epoxy Resin. Even fewer, if any, infuse their canoes using Epoxy Resin. Infusing the Epoxy Resin provides the flexibility and impact resistance so necessary in a canoe, to provide years of trouble free service.

Infusion is a process Mid-Canada Fiberglass has developed with the assistance of technicians from the Aerospace Industry. We were able to take their stringent guidelines, techniques and laminations and apply them to the Paddlesport industry. We call this very unique process Infu-Lite.

Traditionally, very lights or Ultralight canoes as they are often called, sacrificed strength and integrity of the hull, trying to reach the ultimate weights consumers and demanding. The trouble is, Ultralights were never intended for extreme use... UNTIL NOW.

When we build Bluewater canoes with our proprietary Infu-Lite process you get a canoe the equivalent of an Expedition laminate in an Ultralight weight. So go ahead, rough it up, paddle hard and in your new Bluewater.
