BLUEWATER LAMINATIONS

Fiberglass

All Bluewater fiberglass canoes are hand layed incorporating multiple layers of woven fiberglass with extra reinforcing used in impact areas.  Marine grade cross linear ribs are added to stiffen the hull and minimize the weight.  This is the perfect choice for casual paddlers who will not be doing extensive portages.

 

Kevlar Infusion

A proprietary lamination of multiple layers of Kevlar and E-Glass layed up behind a UV stabilized gelcoat reinforced with a solid marine grade linear foam core.  This laminate is infused with a vinylester blended resin ensuring 100% wet out with the perfect Kevlar to resin ratio, producing a very strong light laminate.

Gold Infusion

Reducing the exterior gelcoat, adding a layer of S-Glass and Kevlar, this exceptional combination has produced and expedition laminate in an ultra light weight  Using the same laminating infusion process as our Golden Brawn laminate, a vinylester/epoxy blend resin ensures the highest strength lamination which has reduced weight by 10% over the Kevlar infusion laminate.

 

Golden Brawn Infu-Lite

This is the most technologically advanced lamination in the paddlesports industry today. We use 100% epoxy resin infusing 4 full layers of Kevlar, S-Glass and a fabric which we do not care to divulge.  The hull is baked in an oven overnight for optimum cure.  As with the Golden Infusion laminate, we have achieved an ultra light weight and a product which is close to indestructible.  This is a favourite laminate of outfitters and word has it, maybe the first canoe endorsed by the chiropractic society.

 

Royalite / Royalex

This laminate is created using an ABS/vinyl sheet of material which is heated and formed under vacuum pressure. The end result is a hull which resists abrasion and impact. An excellent choice for extensive tripping and whitewater.
