Our most popular traditional canoe This canoe is the natural development of 16/6 - with an increased length and beam, it is meant to carry a greater load. Since a longer boat just naturally tends to track better, we were able to add more rocker to the profile to retain the turning ability of the smaller Saugeens. It is an excellent family canoe for people with more gear. Many buyers of the Saugeen 17/6 use it for extended tripping or on open bodies of water.
