Freedom 17/9 Explorer

High Volume Asymmetrical Tripping Canoe

We designed this Freedom canoe for those who loved the feel of the 17, but simply needed to carry a bigger load. The length, beam and freeboard have been increased with only subtle changes to the hull shape. The resulting boat has high stability, good speed and clean lines.

We have had many families who want to share the outdoor experience with their children find that the Explorer is the best boat for them. With two adults, and one or two youngsters in the middle along with toys, small paddles and gear for a week the trip will be one you remember. Mom and Dad will love the ease of paddling while passengers approve of the space and stability.

Explorer 17/9 traverses Canada
We are proud to let you know that the Explorer has made a cross Canada trip with two young women providing the paddling power. The Many Waters expedition used a yellow Nylon Kevlar Freedom 17/9 for their trip. Congratulations Carrie and Martha. Check out the details on their web site
